Ways to use the Instantswitchboard Service if you can't be in the office.....

Here are just some of the ways that you can use your Call Manager to really get the most out of times you are absent from the office (holidays etc...):

If your office is not staffed for a period of time

Remember you can customise you're queue's open and close times and record a custom out of hours message for your customers when it is closed. Make sure your Missed Call Alerts and Voicemail Alerts are both enabled and you will not miss a caller's number or message even though your office is not staffed!

You're not in the office but you are on your mobile

You can purchase SMS credits by logging in to your Switchboard account and clicking on "Upgrades". Then activate the Missed Call alerts to your mobile for each number you have. We will send a missed call alert directly to your mobile and use the callers numbers as the header to the SMS making it easy for you to call them back from your mobile phone. This is far cheaper than diverting your landline to your mobile, as you can use your inclusive minutes for the call and not be hit with "over priced divert calls".

If you are working from home

Remember you can route your calls to your home number! Don't forget to enable the 'Call Screening' feature on your queue via your configuration page. This will enable you to tell the difference between a business call and a personal call whilst at home. There is nothing more off putting than your 3yr old son chatting to your latest hot prospect!
