Below are five ways that our customers tell us they like using their switchboard numbers. We are sure you will love these features and find then useful in your day to day business.

Use it as a high capacity recorded information line.

See who called you, when and where from.

Did you know the details of every single call that comes through your switchboard is recorded by your system and available online to view at any time?

For example if you want a member of your staff to call back any missed calls from the last 24 hours simply go to "My Stats" and select the report "Last 250 Missed Calls".

Print off this report each day and give to your staff so they can call back any missed calls from yesterday - no lost business here!

Call Whisper (also known as Call Screening).

When you receive a call on one of your switchboard numbers you can have the switchboard announce the call when you pick it up. For example you may divert your queue to your home and only wish one or two people to answer calls for your switchboard. When the phone rings in your house and you pick the receiver up, switchboard will tell you that you have a call waiting from your queue number and you can press the * key to accept the call and answer exactly as you would in your business office. If you don't want to answer the call at that time you can simply hang up the phone and switchboard will call you back in 30 seconds or you can press 3 to automatically send the call directly to voicemail if you have voicemail activated.

This is also useful if you want to distinguish calls for different departments or different companies. Record a different custom whisper for each 0844 number you advertise so that when you answer the call you will be told which company the call is for.

Call me anytime anywhere.

With switchboard you can add up to 5 different locations to try to put your caller through to. You can have switchboard ring your office landline first, then try your home landline, then even try your mobile*(you need to purchase credits to divert to mobile phones) if the caller hasn't got through. You will never miss an important call again and this ensures that your customers can always speak to you.

Quickly close your queue when leaving the office.

If you are popping out of the office and you want to quickly close your lines to divert your callers to answerphone you can use our QuickClose option.

Log into your account, click on "MyNumbers" and select the QuickClose link for the line you want to close.

As soon as you have QuickClosed your queue all callers will be sent to your out of hours message and voicemail if enabled.

This saves your callers being placed on hold when you are unavailable at the office.

All the above features are available for free! To get this functionality with anyone else you would have to pay additional monthly fees or invest thousands of pounds in hardware on your premises.
